It will take place in the grand hall and not in the marquee as in previous years.

Highlights:

  • Professionally organised

The Chorus- Parc des Expositions de Vannes is organising the leading national professional meeting just prior to the shellfish growing season, in close collaboration with numerous partners: the South Brittany Regional Shellfish Growers’ Committee, the Regional Council of Brittany, the Departmental Council of the Morbihan, France Agrimer, the Coopérative Maritime and the regional branch of the Crédit Maritime Atlantique.

Every year, this show hosts nearly 70 exhibitors presenting their materials, equipment and services. The last edition of the National Shellfish and Marine Culture Show in Vannes was widely acclaimed: by visitors, exhibitors and partners.

With more than 2000 visitors targeted in 2015, we experienced a clear increase in visitors, including those from abroad: Ireland, Scotland, Morocco, Spain, Italy, Russia, United States… Surveys revealed that 50% of the 2015 visitors came from outside the department: Normandy, Pays de la Loire, Vendée and Manche departments.

Focus on innovation

The central theme for this year is “Innovation, a vector for sustainable economic development for the aquaculture and marine culture sector”.

This will be represented via:

o   A central innovation area led by Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique that will highlight numerous products and services developed within the various sectors present at the show, and current or completed approved projects.

o   Promotion of exhibiting companies presenting their latest innovations.

Opening of the show to other areas in the aquaculture and marine culture sector: abalone, urchins, algae (macroalgae), but also the desire to welcome companies in the sectors of solar and wind energy production, waste recovery, water, transport, environment, etc., suited to the scale of operations.

6 workshops for exchange and information organised with the South Brittany Regional shellfish farming committee and in coordination with our partners.

Come and find the answers to all your professional questions concerning news, challenges in the sector and perspectives, the development of your business: shellfish market and export, diversification, controlling consumption costs, etc. Presentation of the EMFF (presentation and instructions)…

This year we are focusing on innovations in equipment and services. Come and discover the latest inventions, techniques, supports… to help you in your day-to-day business operation.

The organising committee (on the initiative of the maritime cooperative of fisherman and oyster growers) is inviting all shellfish growers to a “sea-themed aperitif” on Thursday 8th September at 11.30 am.
